Candy Goldapper has good
news from Dawn Thompson
who’s still stuck in a rehab. Her
third book in her vampire series,
THE RAVENING got the 4 1/2
star top pick review from RT.
As for Candy, she just signed a
contract for her novel, THE
BRIDGE TO ETERNITY, with Tiger
Publications due out 2010. She
says, "Now I have to live that long."
The holidays over, Bertrice
Small is busy working on the third
book in her series, "The Border
Chronicles", THE CAPTIVE
HEART. She’s up for Historical
Storyteller of the Year in the RT
Awards as well as a Reviewer's
Choice award for her historical
fantasy, THE TWILIGHT LORD
and for best historical set in Scotland,
THE BORDER LORD'S
BRIDE. The house renovations
continue onward. The plumbing
inspection from Southold Town is
done! It's drywall time!
Pam Burford and the Good
Twin, Pat Ryan, enjoyed a two-person
writers' retreat in Saratoga
Springs in early December. They
spent four days brainstorming, revising,
and researching their
WIPs. Plus holiday shopping and
restaurant hopping. They're planning
to make it a regular event.

Bianca D'Arc reports that
the novella, WINGS OF
CHANGE, which will be out in
print this March in the I Dream
of Dragons anthology from
Samhain Publishing, was a Top
Ten Finalist in the Preditors &
Editors Poll.
HARA’s LEGACY, due in
print this March, has finaled in
the EPPIE Awards and will be
featured on an end cap display
in Borders and Waldenbooks
soon after its release. Book 2 in
the series, DAVIN’S QUEST,
will be out in ebook formats on
February 19th, and in print this
December. The third Dragon
Knights book, PRINCE OF
SPIES, finaled in the CAPA
Awards from The Romance
Studio in the Fantasy Erotic Romance
category.
Bianca was voted Best Scifi
Author of 2007 by the readers
at Rites of Romance. They also
awarded her Best Paranormal
Book of 2007 for FOREVER
VALENTINE, Best Erotic Book
of 2007 for HARA’S LEGACY,
and Best Vampire Book of 2007
for SWEETER THAN WINE.
Barbara Metzger has nice
news. Her book THE HOUR GLASS, March 2007, Signet
Eclipse, had been nominated
for Most Innovative Historical
Romance by Romantic Times.

Michele Lang is thrilled to
announce the release of her
March Shomi SF romance,
NETHERWOOD, a futuristic
Robin Hood story set in an

Bertrice Small has finished
her October historical for
NAL. The new "old" house is
almost done, and she prepares

Bianca D'Arc reports that
HARA’s LEGACY, which is an

in print on March 25th
from Samhain Publishing and

Waldenbooks. Also releasing
that day is the dragon-themed
anthology, I DREAM OF
DRAGONS. The anthology is
in two volumes. Bianca's
story, WINGS OF CHANGE,
which was a Preditors & Editors
Top 10 Finalist is in Volume
One. On March 23rd, a
collection of two of Bianca's
space opera romance tales
will be released by Phaze in a
print volume called Sons of
Amber: Ezekiel & Michael.
Bianca also won a CAPA
Award from The Romance
Studio for her 2007 dragonshifter
book, PRINCE OF
SPIES. She also picked up a
Best Author of 2007 Award
from All Romance Ebooks as
well as a Best Book of 2007 for
Hara's Legacy.

She was also given a Pioneer of
Romance award, a lovely crystal
block inscribed with her
name and the date of her first
published novel. Also receiving
these Pioneer Awards were
Roberta Gellis and Barbara
Metzger, among others. And
George had a great time
too. He was honored at the
SOS Mixer for his service in
WWII, and looked terrific in
his uniform. There were also
vets from Korea, 'Nam, Gulf
and Iraq wars. And Bertrice reconnected
with cover model,
Fabio, who thrilled her by remembering
her by name, taking
her two hands in his, and
kissing both of her cheeks!
WOW! The perfect end to a
perfect conference.

PA. Monica received a Master of
