Candy Goldapper has good
news from Dawn Thompson
who’s still stuck in a rehab. Her
third book in her vampire series,
THE RAVENING got the 4 1/2
star top pick review from RT.
As for Candy, she just signed a
contract for her novel, THE
BRIDGE TO ETERNITY, with Tiger
Publications due out 2010. She
says, "Now I have to live that long."
Bianca D'Arc reports that
the novella, WINGS OF
CHANGE, which will be out in
print this March in the I Dream
of Dragons anthology from
Samhain Publishing, was a Top
Ten Finalist in the Preditors &
Editors Poll.
HARA’s LEGACY, due in
print this March, has finaled in
the EPPIE Awards and will be
featured on an end cap display
in Borders and Waldenbooks
soon after its release. Book 2 in
the series, DAVIN’S QUEST,
will be out in ebook formats on
February 19th, and in print this
December. The third Dragon
Knights book, PRINCE OF
SPIES, finaled in the CAPA
Awards from The Romance
Studio in the Fantasy Erotic Romance
category.
Barbara Metzger has nice
news. Her book THE HOUR GLASS, March 2007, Signet
Eclipse, had been nominated
for Most Innovative Historical
Romance by Romantic Times.
Bertrice Small has finished her October historical for NAL. The new "old" house is almost done, and she prepares for RT in Pittsburgh next month where she is up for 3 awards this year. Being nominated is such an honor. “But winning is much better so keep your fingers and toes crossed for me, LIRWers!” Bianca D'Arc reports that HARA’s LEGACY, which is an EPPIE Award Finalist, will release in print on March 25th from Samhain Publishing and will be featured in endcap displays in both Borders and Waldenbooks. Also releasing that day is the dragon-themed anthology, I DREAM OF DRAGONS. The anthology is in two volumes. Bianca's story, WINGS OF CHANGE, which was a Preditors & Editors Top 10 Finalist is in Volume One. On March 23rd, a collection of two of Bianca's space opera romance tales will be released by Phaze in a print volume called Sons of Amber: Ezekiel & Michael. Bianca also won a CAPA Award from The Romance Studio for her 2007 dragonshifter book, PRINCE OF SPIES. She also picked up a Best Author of 2007 Award from All Romance Ebooks as well as a Best Book of 2007 for Hara's Legacy. Pam Burford and Good Twin Pat Ryan (LIRW's newest member!) will both be giving workshops at the New Jersey conference in October. Pam will speak on editing your book, and Pat will discuss the opening hook. Candy Goldapper has big news--A HEATED ROMANCE is out and available at Barnes & Noble and Amazon. Arpil 2008 News Lisa Levine-Bernstein’s daughter was accepted to NYU! Candy Goldapper sold her 4th novel, THE RECONSTRUCTION OF CARLA MILLHOUSE, to Tiger Publications. No due date yet!Bertrice Small’s house is finished! Move in day is May 5th! But first she and George I will go to RT in Pittsburgh in mid-April. Doreen Orsini accepted a contract from Ellora's Cave for her erotic romantic suspense NO ONE BUT MADISON. Release date to be announced. Debora Rabbitt (writing as Debora Dennis) sold her first light-hearted erotic novella to a brand new e-publisher - Blade Publishing. THE KANDY SHOPPE will be available June 1st! Gina Ardito’s second romantic comedy, A LITTLE SLICE OF HEAVEN, finally has a release date: August 1, 2008. Bianca D'Arc’s book, HARA’S LEGACY won the 2008 EPPIE Award for Best Cactus Rose Romance Authors Erotic Romance Science Fiction/ Futuristic. She was also asked to pinch-hit for a workshop at RT on promoting on a budget. (The official blurb for the workshop is on the RT site.) Roberta Gellis’s last of the Tudor fantasies, AND LESS THAN KIND, will be published in April. This covers the life of Elizabeth during the reign of her sister Mary when she was very often within a hairsbreadth of losing her head. May 2008 News Michele Lang sold a historical fantasy trilogy to Tor. Also receiving these Pioneer Awards were Roberta Gellis and Barbara Metzger, among others. And George had a great time too. He was honored at the SOS Mixer for his service in WWII, and looked terrific in his uniform. There were also vets from Korea, 'Nam, Gulf and Iraq wars. And Bertrice reconnected with cover model, Fabio, who thrilled her by remembering her by name, taking her two hands in his, and kissing both of her cheeks! WOW! The perfect end to a perfect conference. June 2008 News Candy Goldapper signed another contract with Tiger Publications for THE PROMISE and a contract with Highland Press for A TWIST OF FATE. She also signed under the name of Candy Caine with Erotique Press for OOPS!, a short story. Doreen Orsini is thrilled to announce that Ellora's Cave has accepted a second erotic romance, TANNER’s ANGEL. Publishing date to be announced. July 2008 News Bertrice Small says, "Move over. Tag sale over. New house a mess. I'm back to work. See everyone in October for our outing. We'll do vineyards this year." Debora Rabbitt writing as Debora Dennis is pleased to announce her second sale to Blade Publishing. The Christmas novella, Her Knight Before Christmas, will be a December 2008 release. Jen McAndrews is tremendously proud to share that her daughter, Tracy, is now an official graduate of Massapequa High School, class of 2008. Huzzah!! Monica Spence wrote and gave the Commencement Prayer at her graduation ceremony at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA. Monica received a Master of Arts degree in Writing Popular Fiction. Seton Hill is her undergraduate Alma Mater (1974/ BA: Speech and Theater with a concentration in Costume.) She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Theater from SUNY-Binghamton.
